So the new single called "in repair" was released yesterday, and so far I have heard it 3 times (thanks to FM96, who are playing it every hour until 12pm today). From the first note, I knew I was going to love it...the music is classic OLP, and Raine's vocal are outstanding (he just keeps getting better with every album). There are a couple of cool "lyrical bridges" between verses that will stick in your head for the rest of the day. My only complaint is that the background vocals at the beginning are too loud: This is one of those songs where the vocals start immediately, and are meant to be the focal point of the intro, and whoever is singing backup (I'm assuming Mike Turner, the guitarist) is almost as loud as Raine, which slightly ruins the intro.
But all in all, a really good tune...check it out, and let me know what you think.
PS: Rumour has it that OLP is about to announce a club tour, which would be really great cause for the last few years, they have only played huge venues. I'll let you know if London will be graced with their presence (they haven't been to London in about 4 years!)
