The Register is running a story about unconfirmed reports that current RIAA big-wig is helping to draft the copyright laws in the 'New Iraq'. The copyright law, as it stands, in the 'Old Iraq' spells out that copyright runs out 25 years after the death of the author, or 50 years after the creation, whichever comes first. Also stated in the law is that the author must not prevent a person from making one copy for his or her own personal use. Hopefully this is just a rumour, because these laws are most fair to the consumer in my opinion, and secondly, Rosen has no business writing another county's copyright laws, nor does the Coalition have any business in it. Will Iraq become the home of Hollywood because of it's tailor written copyright laws?
