(Yet Another) Interview with Mark Cuban

As I stated in this article, Mark Cuban will grant just about anyone an interview, including yours truly. Hit Read More for a quick interview with the Mavs owner in which I ask him a little bit more about the story here.

Tinfoil: You mention in The Register that you've received quite a lot of 'unofficial' positive support from the entertainment industry and you say nothing about negative response. From this I assume the ratio of positive to negative feedback is similar to the odds of the Raptors finishing the season on top.
Mark Cuban: About 100 to 1

Tinfoil: Any clue why industry folks would support your view privately yet continue to maintain technophobe views publicly?
Mark Cuban: They realize that historically the industry has fought every new innovation, but was wrong and ended up making money from it.
From Quincy Jones saying the cassette tape would kill music to Jack Valenti comparing the VCR to the Boston strangler to now.

The Great Tinfoilio: When did it click for you that P2P, while it can be used as a tool for evil by satanists and chronic jaywalkers, can be a very positive and profitable tool if supported properly by the industry?
Mark Cuban: I started selling peer to peer networks based on netbios on PCs 20 years ago. Its been used for productive apps since then.

I see you may be an Apple fan. What do you think of this Apple vs. Think Secret thing?
Mark Cuban: I can see both sides, don't have a favourite.

I'd like to thank Mr. Cuban for spending just a few minutes with us and clearing up a couple of things for us, such as your white-hot hatred of Tinfoil. That's cool, but I do still expect to see that G5.
