Lines such as "Attacking markets with bombs, You'd better sing the redemption song"(Silencer) and " Peace he preaches now as if he knows what it means, and uses it's power to forge patriotic dreams"(The Deepest Wound) say much of what the band expresses. Then there is the potent track Our Rights, which asks Why is it age after age we keep lifting the oppressors high? Their controlled media has purposely fed us nothing but lies Opposers of unity attempt to shake us up in the night, But we hold the power in this moment to reclaim all of our rights Not to say that it's all the band talks about, but they definitely don't shy away from the tough topics. The band sympathizes with some of the political messages brought forth by Public Enemy, Pennywise, Propaghandi and the International Noise Conspiracy, to name a few. The album has been compared to the likes of Rage Against the Machine, Refused and Tool, and has received strong reviews so far. Hailing from Calgary, Canada, this brand of emotionally charged metal & punk is relatively unheard of, especially a band as outspoken as Inner Surge.
