| CD Review: Bobnoxious -- Bobnoxious |

With lyrics like Cheap whiskey, all were needin. Big bag of wheelchair weed and tunes crankin one might be given to believing that Bobnoxious (further referred to as Bob) cast a constant shadow in the vice-principals office when he was actually at school. That would be a pretty fitting summary of the entire disc. Bob and the boys say and play what they want, as loud as they want and as obnoxiously as they can and dont care what you think as long as the beer is cold and the weed is rolled. Oh, so you want to know what the music is like? Well, its hard-core rock. Its simple, heavy and best taken at ear-bleeding inducing levels. Bob sounds like he smokes a carton a day, which fits dead nuts on with the rest of the band. They are unpolished and unprofessional. Its not going to win any awards for feats of musical prowess but thats not the point. Its driven, heavy rock. Some have called it metal, but they can fuck off. This is rock through and through. In my day Ive dreamed of playing bass in a number of bands from Fear Factory to Metallica (pre Black days, thank you) but none have sounded like a bigger party than Bobnoxious. Id rate this a full 10 beers, and not shit like Lucky Lager or Old Milwaukee. Biggest surprise, Reaction. Probably my favourite track on the disc. Many thanks to the boys at London's Best Rock, FM96, Gord and Brad, for tipping me off to these guys. Add your comment
