I recently picked up a couple new discs; Disturbed's 10,000 Fists and The New Pornographers Twin Cinema. Nobody is going to be suprised by 10,000 Fists being in my collection, but Twin Cinemas is going to raise a few eyebrows. Yes, I know these albums have been out for atleast a month now. I never claimed that I was quick. Disturbed -- 10,000 Fists. Disturbed is, along with Fear Factory, my favourite of the "Nu-Metal" bands. Hey, I didn't invent the title. 10,000 Fists doesn't represent any revolutions musically for the band. It is more of an evolution. Indeed, it continues on the same line as Believe, and I can dig that. Believe was a good disc, but just not quite as good as The Sickness. 10,000 Fists is a quality disc but nothing really stands out, though Deify is close. Still, I like it. David Draiman's vocal work is excellent as always and musically it is a bit more complex, and there is even some real guitar solos. I knew you could do it Dan! It's a good album, a solid 7.5/10, and would justify relabeling the band as real metal.

The New Pornographers -- Twin Cinemas. Uhhhh, wow? Sweet monkey Jesus, I'd give your left nut to see these guys. I'd give my own, but Mrs. Tinfoil says I still need it. I challenge you to take one listen to The Bleeding Heart Show and tell me I'm wrong. Go ahead. I'll wait.

Now that your done, you have to admit I'm right, ya? I've heard them compared to Abba, but Abba sucks for the most part, and these guys do not. I'll also compare them to Fleetwood Mac. If musical talent could be harnessed as an energy form, The New Pornographers could power the entire world. The vocal work is the best I've heard in years!

The only problem I have with CD is that I just can't listen to it all in one sitting. Perhaps I'm getting overloaded by it, but really, it's not my normal genre of music. Still, I can't fault the band for my short-comings. You're either going to love this disc or hate it. I'm giving it eleventy-billion out of 10. There are quite simply no bad songs on this disc. I really don't feel that I'm giving this disc justice by giving it a quick review, but time is short at present.
