The whole CD provides a nice panoramic view of all things Roscoe and Roscoe-related.... Tracks "Feel So Good," "Does It Look That Bad,"and "Judas Kiss" are all Yayhoo-related; this means Dan Baird, Terry Anderson, and Keith Christopher are somewhere in those tunes (well, Dan does bass on two of the three and Andy York is harmonizing vocals on "...Bad"). Anything with the tag "Yayhoos" will be great. Enough said here. "Stepside," "Lonely Town," "It'll Only End In Tears," and "Garbagehead" are revealed in the liner-notes to be related to Roscoe's Gang. On "It'll Only End..." Roscoe vocally sounds Jagger-esque. Attention Scorcher's fans: Warner Hodges is picking on "Lonely Town." "Stepside" is funk-fest o' fun- it makes you wanna groove, even if you have two left feet. I break things when I listen to "Garbagehead." I need to replace the lamp-no kidding. My fav-o-rite track thus far... and I am a teetotaler-type. A Del Lords offering called "Shake Some Action" should make you want to investigate that band if you never have before. Roscoe slings some well-done covers of Tom Waits ("Union Square"), and Neil Young ("Revolution Blues"). Move over, Willie Nelson, Roscoe also offers us his version of that sentimental tune "Always on my mind." Check out Roscoe's version of an unreleased Steve Earle tune (Roscoe is a Duke, if you didn't know). The lazy boogie of "The Usual Time" makes you want to take your time and enjoy this gem. The tune "Hole In My Head" is definitely put-the-top-down-and-stomp-it music. "Psychic Friend" is a bluesy trip, and the very next track called "If Walls Could Talk" (done with the Bottle Rockets) leaps off into a Telecaster toe-tapper mode.... Just be careful you don't get rolled in the curves as Roscoe takes you on a free-wheeling journey through "fourteen years of tracks that have been clogging his iPod." http://www.ericambel.com/EricAmbel-Music.htm Add your comment
