NOTHING BEATS A PACKED ROARING TO GO AUDIENCE. IT MAKES YOU WORK THAT MUCH HARDER. I THINK EVERYONE WILL LOVE MMD, ITS VERY ENTERTAINING. AN AWESOME LIVE PERFORMANCE AS WELL AS SOME HUMOROUS BEHIND THE SCENES STUFF. http://music.tinfoil.net/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=876 Lets start with the art work. The Not Man has been reduced to a side kick. Captain Thrax has come to herald the live Anthrax album. Like the Silver Surfer announcing the world-ending Galactus, Captain Thrax announces the Metal-thrashing madness of Anthrax. The good Captain is illustrated by master artist Alex Ross. Could Alex Ross become to Anthrax what Derek Riggs was to Iron Maiden? Anthrax has given us merchandise-worthy imagery with the great art and art direction (Brents interior stuff is cool, too). Now lets go to the Music on the CD. I will cut out all the song-by-song fluff and make my point: go straight to track number ten, called Refuse To Be Denied. Turn it up as loud as you can. Stick your head between the speakers. If this doesnt light you up, you dont need this CD/DVD (and you probably suck as human being). When he is working the crowd before the song kicks in, John Bush reminds me of a certain Drill Sergeant I enjoyed/endured during basic training. By far, this is my favorite cut, and it best sums up what this release and this band is about. And as Stan Lee would say, 'nuff said. Bushs vocals sound soulful and powerful on this release. Rob Caggiano and the mighty Scott Ian bounce off each other nicely guitar-wise, and Frank Bello and Charlie Benante have definitely got the time. It was recorded live at a sold-out Metro in Chicago on Friday December 5th 2003. The DVD is the next best thing to being there. I wont be like that annoying guy who saw the movie before you did and say hey, watch that part where so-and-so does this Have fun with MMD. Anthrax did. Add your comment
