Long time friend of Tinfoil Music, and the consumer rights battle, CodeWarrior has dropped me an email with a small essay dedicated to Presidential hopeful, Mr. Kerry. Read More, and expect more in the future!

Many of us may have our own preferred politician that we would LIKE to see elected. Some may say Nader, some would like Kucinich, and some, like your humble writer, favor Aaron Russo, but, at the end of the day, I think most of us would have to admit that the race will probably distill down to George W, and a Democrat from Massachusetts who is a decorated war veteran, has the initials JFK .

We KNOW that Mr. Bush is not a friend to filesharers, but to date, Mr. Kerry is not either, and many allege, he is in the pocket of big media.

We frequently see statistics that there are approximately sixty million people in America who use peer-to-peer filesharing networks. At any point in the day, there are usually around three million people, give or take a half million, on Kazaa.

Sixty million, or even three million, is not a figure to ignore. We know that, in the last election, states were won or lost with much less.

I believe that Mr. Kerry SHOULD pay heed to such a large percentage of the population to whom, filesharing, copyright reform, and similar issues, are hot button issues.

I therefore suggest that more people ought to try to contact Mr. Kerry and open a dialogue with him about the need for a more reasonable posture with regards to the rights of citizens to fair use.

My call to action comes at a time when the Kerry campaign should be more approachable and more open to the issues that such a large block of voters finds important.

Please feel free to share this message with other websites that share our interests and goals.

Thanks for reading this.

You heard the man, copy this onto your site, your blog. Print it and hand it out. Get the word out!

This issue is not something that should be sent to the backburner. Yes, there are some much more pressing issues, but let's not forget what the media houses want -- they want to strip away your fair use rights.

Now, I know that many of this site's visitors aren't American (I'm Canadian) and to them this call for action may seem misplaced but far from it! For Canadians, we have a federal election coming at the end of June and we have to urge our representatives that they need to stop ignoring those of us that do not want to give up our fair use rights.
