p2p news / p2pnet: MediaServices' AllofMP3.com is a Russian site pointing out one of the ways a successful online music market could be developed. Hence, despite IFPI claims that the corporate online music industry is blossoming, because the Big Four wholesale their 'product' at anything between around 60 and 85 cents per, in real life, it's practically non-existent. It's also the reason why AllofMP3.com, not to mention indie musician sites and the p2p networks, are so popular. The
Big Music solution? Crush anything that looks even vaguely like
competition and at the same time, try to sue your customers into buying
grossly over-priced, formulaic music files from minimal lists. As
part of their latest marketing innovation, the Big Four's IFPI
(International Federation of Phonographic Industry) is now threatening
UK AllofMP3.com users, claiming they're infringing copyright. "In theory, they could be sued by the music industry," says ComputerActive.
"The IFPI said that at the moment it was concentrating on stopping
AllofMP3 from trading. But it wouldn't rule out taking legal action
against consumers." Source: p2pnet.net. Add your comment
