November was "Mana" Month, meaning the remixes in question will be from games such as Secret of Mana. Results and link are in Read More... I check out the remixes at DoD every month and it gets to a point where the songs in question stop being good. This month it was at number7. Anything below it wasn't pleasing to the ears. Onto the good, I've found that any song over 6:00 minutes is hard to listen to. The number three song, Mana - Reign of the Mana Sword by Rexy has a play time of exactly 20 minutes! I don't have the attention span to listen to it all, I'm sorry. What I did listen to was good though. Rarely there are ties. This month was a rare one as the song Mana - With Real Potato Flavor (gotta love the names that are put to these songs) by SnappleMan also came in third. I've played the Mana games, but never took much note of the soundtrack (probably because I was 12 at the time), so I don't know what stages or tracks these all are from. I do know what I like to listen to in a track and "With Real Potato Flavor" had not the best quality of guitar. The notes were on, the flow of the song good, but I'm guessing the quality is what did this piece in as will be evident if you listen to Potato and this next one. At Number two is Mana - Breath of Dissonance by norg and Ryan8bit. I wrote before that I have no idea what these tracks are. I don't care, because the acoustics and guitar work in this piece are fucking brilliant (it would be good to note I am a sucker for good acoustics, no matter the length). I think the voters this month were a little too. At number one is Mana - Rose of Solemn by Ashane. This guy deserves the gold trophy GIF. Remember back in the day when Metalica was cool, or Old Metalica, and not Metalica that made Saint Anger and was the bitch of RIAA? Oh does the guitar work of Rose remind me of Old Metalica. Scroll up a little and read that I wrote mixes over 6:00 minutes are hard to listen to. This is not one of them. At 8:24, I've listened to this times since I DL'ed it (that's a little under 26 minutes of my life wasted on listening to one piece, congrats Ashane) I've been listening to Rose a while now and its still good. *quick listens to it again* Yup, still good. Last notes, the alt/joke tunes are usually never good. I'll listen to them once, laugh a little if need be, and move on with life. This month I actually kept one. It's called, The Ocean is my Home by Natthimmel (no idea how you say that). It's only too bad the alt/joke tunes don't get much of a mention. I can't wait for next month, RPG Month. No idea what RPG means? First, go play in traffic. Second, Google Final Fantasy. Third go here and see some of the games that might be used as source material for the next round of DoD.
