The songs come via the new AAC file format, a format Apple claims to be far better than MP3s at the same rate and also offer a smaller size. Expect a windows compatable player shortly. Another bonus with Apple's offering is the track preview feature. You can check out 30 seconds of every track before you buy it. And buying it would be hard either, with one click purchasing of either single tracks or entire CDs. As for the cost, it may be a little more than I was hoping for, at $0.99 per song, but a full CD will run a rather light $9.99. Once you purchase it, it is yours. Roll your own audio CDs, transfer it to your super smooth new iPod or copy it to your other computers (only 3 though, please). I was hoping to try the service out today, but a couple of things have conspired against me. First, I forgot my TiBook at home. Secondly, I am a Canuck and it's only open to Americans currently, thank you very much. Add your comment
