The RIAA has become militant as has Metalica and other organizations that think they have the right to control what we listen to. As a result, we the people, have to protect ourselves from this corporate onslaught against our rights and freedoms. To this end I would like to report about a wonderful little program called PeerGuard.
I have used this application and found it simple though not very intuitive, but extremely effective. Basically it blocks IP ranges that other PeerGaurd users have identified as corporate hackerz intent on infiltrating computers for reasons that would land anyone else in jail.
It's simple to run. Start it up before running Kazaa and presto the menacing IP ranges are blocked. I just used the program to see the results of a search for my own music and within a minute 131 ranges were blocked!!
If you're going to use file sharing I recommend wearing protection :-)
