New Version of Kazaa Media Desktop, No Ads.

Software company, Avalon Online Distrobution, is releasing a new ad-free version of Kazaa Media Desktop called Kazaa Plus. For the low, low price of $29.95, you get no advertising (and no spyware?).

This is, of course, nothing new. Kazaa Lite has made a significant splash and a large hit in Sharman Networks' advertising revenue stream. Kazaa Lite is ad-free, spyware free and just plain free. As in beer.

The only other benefits offered by Kazaa Plus is an updated search scheme which will resubmit a search every 30 minutes for up to 24 hours. The user can also download from up to 40 different sources, up from 8 in the ad-supported, free version.

The company will also provide tech support via email.

Charging for a P2P client? Making money off of piracy? Ruh Roh Shaggy. I don't expect to see the RIAA to ignore this one.
