Har-Bal International's (http://www.har-bal.com) powerful mastering equalization system Har-Bal was selected for EQ Magazine's inaugural award "EQ Exceptional Quality Award", additionally Har-Bal received the "KeyBuy" award from the March issue of Keyboard magazine.

"These awards represents a real achievement for our product & vision," said Har-Bal International President Earle Holder. "Few publications are as respected as EQ Magazine. To receive a 'seal of approval' from Craig Anderton validates our product as well as the Loudness Compensation Technology that maintains the same perceived loudness regardless of the EQ’d changes."

The award coincided with Craig Anderton's review in EQ Magazine's special Winter NAMM issue. "If you have the ears to know how to use this clever program, HarBal makes fixing equalization problems in everything from samples to master recordings just that much easier," wrote Craig Anderton about the first of its kind software that introduces a new process of Harmonically Balancing recorded music.

"Based on the web site's hype, I was prepared to be disappointed," noted Anderton. "Instead, I found a cleverly implemented tool that fixes EQ problems with astonishing speed and precision. I tried it on several songs, unmastered and mastered, and in each case, was able to obtain at least some degree of improvement (the better the mastering job, the less difference HarBal made)."

Specifically, the review pointed to key strengths in Har-Bal rarely
found in competing systems such as:
* Transparent equalization
* Effective, cost-effective tool for mastering EQ
* Reads/writes multiple formats
* Handles up to 32-bit/96 kHz files
* Loudness compensation when changing EQ settings

"Those with good ears will get the most out of Har-Bal. Although it won't turn a neophyte into a mastering engineer (nor does the company claim it will), HarBal is a welcome, important, well-designed program for those who believe mastering has much more to do with subtle response touch-ups than squashed dynamics."

Har-Bal is a New and Novel Approach By obtaining the right spectral balance when mastering a sound recording, Har-Bal merges the existing technologies of linear phase digital filtering with spectral analysis to provide an unprecedented level of control over the spectral balance of a recording.
