Creative, with egos boosted after Apple settled a patent dispute with them, is now targeting other manufactures of digital audio players. From Ars Technica:
So far, it is not know which companies Creative is targeting, but the
company believes there are "many" digital music player and cell phone
makers that violate its patent. The patent in question
was awarded in August 2005 and describes a user interface for a digital
music player. Creative was able to beat Apple and just about everybody
else to the punch with its patent filing, giving it a powerful weapon
to wield against its competitors—as long as it isn't challenged. *sigh* Success through innovation? Heard of it Creative? Naw.
