Medialoper has thrown some letters together to tell us that one of Zune's most exciting features may not be all that shit hot. The wireless sharing feature that will allow Zune owners to share music with other Zune owners will come with a pretty big catch: Recipients of the new music will only be able to listen to the new tracks three times or for three days before the Zune self-destructs. Or the songs are deleted, I'm not really sure which.
However, this is universally applied to all music shared via your Zune, even music you have create.
This DRM enabled feature isn't a surprise and I really can't fault Microsoft for this one, as much as I would like to. They would have had to do this to keep themselves from getting bitten by the RIAA lawyers, even though MS could probably litigate them into the ground with nothing more than the interest on Billy G's savings account. More info here.
